About Mantha

Hey there!  My name is Mantha.  I am a 24 year old wheelie cool disabled zebra & character designer!  I am currently a student at Nevada State University about to receive my Bachelor's Degree in Visual Media.  I am also a Senior Senator with the Nevada State Student Alliance!

 

I first got involved in character design in 2020 when I was making my first 2d animated short - Sparky The Wonder Dog.  Since making a character in memorial of my soul dog, I decided to keep making characters.  Fast forward a few years, I got diagnosed with POTS & Periodic Paralysis - a rare disorder that only 125,536 estimated total people have in the whole world which has made me an ambulatory wheelchair user.  Since this news, I've decided to take the leap into what I love doing most - character design!

Some of my projects, I highlight disability such as in my children's book, Hoppy's Big Adventure where one of the bunny children is a wheelchair user due to muscular dystrophy which is something that Hoppy had never seen before.  I also have made film projects highlighting POTS in "A Depressing Day in The Life of POTS."

When I am not working on character design, I am often advocating for those with disabilities, creating memes, watching Family Guy & The Simpsons, listening to the icon, Melanie Martinez, advocating for the students at large, and finally hanging out with my pets.
